BAFFLE ME – FUTURE SIMPLE

Do you recognise that moment when students know in theory that ‘will’ is used to talk about the future, but when they have to quickly form a question or answer in a full sentence — they suddenly start to hesitate?

The Future Simple often seems easy until you have to use it spontaneously. Students get the word order wrong, forget the ‘will’, answer with just one word, or take them ages to construct a correct response. Yet real communication is all about reacting naturally — not just completing exercises in a workbook.

BAFFLE ME – FUTURE SIMPLE was created precisely to turn grammar into fast-paced, engaging and exciting communication. Players ask questions, give answers, listen to one another and try to act faster than their opponent. As a result, learning the Future Simple tense ceases to be a dull exercise and becomes the real-life use of language in action.

In the BAFFLE ME variant, participants compete against each other by asking questions at a rapid pace to provoke an incorrect answer from the other person. In the ASK ME version, the players’ task is to form questions that match the answers shown on the circles. Every correct response brings them closer to victory, so students have a specific reason to speak, listen and think in English.
