BAFFLE ME KIDS – MIX OF ENGLISH TENSES

When a child learns new tenses and structures in English, they often learn them separately. The Present Simple in one lesson, ‘can’ in another, the Past Simple in the next chapter. The real challenge begins when they need to quickly recognise which structure to use, ask a question and answer it without any help.

BAFFLE ME KIDS – MIX OF TENSES helps children practise English in a more natural way — by mixing different tenses, structures and topics that are familiar to them. This means that participants don’t learn grammar as a set of separate rules, but start to use it in practical communication.

The game features constructions such as ‘to be’, ‘have got’, ‘can’, ‘to be in the past’, as well as the Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Present Perfect and Future Simple tenses. This makes every round an exciting challenge: the child must listen, think, choose the right structure and respond in English.

In the BAFFLE ME variant, players compete against each other by asking questions at a rapid pace to provoke a wrong answer and eliminate their opponent from the game. In the ASK ME variant, the task is to create questions that match the answers shown on the circles. This helps children practise both understanding questions and constructing their own sentences.
