The Present Continuous often seems simple, until you have to use it quickly and without any hints. That’s when the usual difficulties arise: omitting the verb ‘to be’, forgetting the ‘-ing’ ending, being unsure of the word order in a question, or taking too long to formulate a reply in your head.

BAFFLE ME – PRESENT CONTINUOUS helps you practise this tense in action — quickly, actively and with enthusiasm. Instead of filling in sentences in exercises, participants ask questions, give answers, read phrases, listen to other players and react under time pressure. As a result, grammar is no longer an abstract rule, but becomes part of practical communication.

In the BAFFLE ME variant, players ask each other questions at a rapid pace, trying to provoke a wrong answer and eliminate their opponent from the game. In the ASK ME variant, the task is to create questions that match the short answers shown on the circles. Both variants are excellent for reinforcing the Present Continuous in questions and answers.
