JOIN UP!

Learning from a book alone is often not enough to speak English with real fluency. You may know the vocabulary, understand the grammar rules and be able to complete exercises, yet still struggle to ask a question, express an opinion, join in a discussion or respond quickly in conversation.

JOIN UP! was created precisely to take English out of the textbook and into real-life communication. It’s a card game that engages players in conversations, debates, language tasks and teamwork. You have to speak, ask questions, answer, argue, cooperate and score points — whilst naturally expanding your vocabulary and reinforcing your grammar along the way.

The game combines various aspects of the language into a single dynamic game. There are challenges relating to grammatical structures, such as conditionals, modal verbs, reported speech, the passive voice and tenses, as well as functional tasks: giving advice, making suggestions, and expressing emotions, opinions or complaints. As a result, participants do not practise English in bits and pieces — they learn to use it as a whole.
